Six states and one nation's capital in 24 hours

Having grown-up in California, I’m not used to going to a different state for the day. On the east coast, being in multiple states on the same day is business as usual. People living in Connecticut and New Jersey work in New York -- that’s still kind of weird to me. In California, you can drive for hours and still be in California. This week, I went to Connecticut for a meeting on Wednesday and to Maryland (via DC) for a meeting on Thursday. I boarded a train at 7am in New York and by 10am had passed through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland on the way to DC. I’m sure my east coast friends are laughing right now, but I still think this whole single-day multi-state thing is kind of cool.
