Longing for the Golden State

Lately people have been asking if we miss California. And yes, we do miss California. We do love New York, but there are definitely some things we wish we could magically transport here. What are those things? Glad you asked.

1. Family and friends (duh).
2. Trader Joe’s, especially the delicious simmer sauces.
3. Access to incredible, inexpensive wine (also related to #2).
4. Access to incredible, inexpensive restaurants (where art thou, Burma Superstar?).
5. Bathroom seat covers (Most public places in New York do not have them. Eew.).
6. Nature. One centrally-located park isn’t quite sufficient.
7. Good service. Like the people in Safeway who will not only tell you where to find where you are looking for, but will actually walk you there. In NY, they don’t even bother hanging up their cell phone!
8. Athletic-chic. Who says you can’t wear polar fleece everywhere?
9. People who say “dude”, “totally” and “right on”.
10. Fog (Elliott made me put that one on the list).

Hi Dear Deb, so glad to hear that there are some things from the Bay Area still plucking your collective heartstrings. And yes, I love reading your updates! I have bookmarked your page. Much love to you and Elliot. Isabelle

DK,
I thoroughly enjoyed all of the adventures you have shared on this page and I look forward to returning to continue soaking up the Deb & Elliott saga from your archives.

How's the Pez dispenser collection coming along?
