Blackfoot Solution

Sorry for the long hiatus. We hope we haven't disappointed our dedicated reader(s). (We still don't know if there is more than one of you who actually reads this thing). We have a good excuse for the radio silence: we just got back from a week in Hawaii with the Kelsons. It was a lovely last hurrah before I have to start work tomorrow. After not working for two months, sitting still in an office for 8+ hours should be an interesting experiment.

Thank you for all of the phone calls and emails regarding the blackfoot phenomenon. It seems that it's not exclusive to New York City. We've heard of cases ranging from Palo Alto to Philadelphia. People have asked for more specific instructions for alleviating blackfoot.

The best cure for blackfoot is Murphy's Oil Soap. Be warned, however, that it takes several scrubbings to remove the blackfoot causing agents. Wearing socks around the house also helps with maintenance.

If you have any other household cleaning inquiries, feel free to post a comment. Chances are, we won't have a good answer but would be happy to make one up.
